Birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad celebrated in London, 2 May 1939

The Muslim Society in Great Britain, under the chairmanship of Mr Ismail De-Yorke, Bar-at-Law, celebrated the birthday of the Holy Prophet at the Grand Hall, Portman Rooms, Baker Street, Central London, on 2 May 1939.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali, the famous translator of the Holy Quran into English, made a speech on this occasion under the title The Prophet’s Services to the cause of human morality. Ambassadors from Muslim countries attended the function.

The Imam of the Woking Muslim Mission, M. Aftab-ud-Din Ahmad, is seated on the stage, third from the right.
