Id-ul-Adha at Woking, 8 October 1916

Leading Id prayers

Khutba by Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din, 1914

Note: In this photograph of the khutba, Maulana Sadr-ud-Din can be seen sitting in the front row, wearing turban, a little to the right of Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din.

These photographs were printed in the book Islam and the Muslim Prayer by Khwaja Kamal-ud-Din, from which they have been scanned. The first edition of this book was published in 1914, and later editions were expanded with illustrations added.

This occasion is the Id-ul-Adha of 8 October 1916, as reported in The Islamic Review and its Urdu edition Isha‘at Islam (both of November 1916), since Maulana Sadr-ud-Din was still in England before his return to India in the same year.

Several more photographs of this Eid-ul-Adha are available at the Topfoto archive collection.
